Are you looking for your future to begin?

Are you open to the potential for change?

Are you ready for the energy to make it all happen?

Then read on because this transit if for you!

Every so often we experience a truly potent combination of energies in the heavens.  When Uranus and Mars conjunct the North Node, we will experience what has the potential to be a truly life changing transit for those whose chart is impacted.

While Uranus conjunct the North Node is exact on July 26, the culmination of this transit takes place on August 1, 2022, when Mars joins Uranus and the North Node at 18 Taurus.  It can be helpful to note that Uranus has been in orb of the North Node since the beginning of July and will remain in orb until the end of August.  So, you might be feeling this transit for up to two months.  As you read further, be aware of any thoughts or insights that come into your consciousness and consider noting them in your journal.  These insights may be the first inspirations from Uranus that crescendo into a display of fireworks when Mars adds his spark to the mix.

Uranus conjunct the North Node is a powerful and potentially life-changing transit that only comes around once every 15 years or so.  Most recently this transit occurred in March 2007, November 1991 and September 1976 and the last time Uranus was conjunct the North Node in Taurus was in 1939.  Since this powerful transit only happens in the sign of Taurus once in a lifetime, you want to take full advantage of it.

This transit will powerfully impact your birth chart if you have planets or chart angles between the degrees of 13 to 23 Taurus (or the other fixed signs of Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius).  Additionally, for everyone, the house where 18 Taurus falls in your birth chart will be activated.

If you are interested in learning how your chart is impacted, consider Life and Transit Review.

So that you can take advantage of this powerful transit, we will explore the key parts one at a time: the North Node, Uranus and Mars and finally the sign of Taurus.  So, let’s embrace the energy of this transit and get it moving.

Visualizing The North Node - Your Pathway to Dharma

Let’s begin with a visualization.  Imagine you are on the Long and Winding Road of your soul’s journey.  If you turn around and gaze back upon the path your soul has walked, you will recognize the kinds of events you have experienced in the past.  Your choices in career, relationships and spirituality, along with the ups and downs in life are all there on the path behind you.  Astrologically, the path your soul has already walked is embodied in the South Node.  From the spiritual perspective, this is your karma.

One often overlooked aspect of karma is that it feels comfortable.  Karma is your habit of driving to the grocery store that same way over and over.  You know the way and it feels easy to follow the path you know well.  Karma is staying in a job that doesn’t inspire you, but pays the bills so you can maintain your life and home.  Karma is the habits you have developed in all aspects of life that feel comfortable and dependable.

To consider the North Node, turn around and now look forward on your soul’s path.  This is the direction your path in life is heading.  But it is also directing you on a part of the path that you have not yet experienced.  Because it is a long and winding road, you can’t always see where you will ultimately arrive.  The North Node requires stepping into the unknown to explore new territory and new potentials.

Astrologically, the path your soul is meant to walk in order to become who you are meant to be is embodied in the North Node.  It is the path to personal fulfillment.  From the spiritual perspective, this is your path to dharma.

Unlike karma, however, an important dynamic of dharma is that is often feels uncomfortable.  Dharma means that in order to develop your gifts, you may have to let go of the past and the habits that helped you feel comfortable and secure.  To break free from your karma and embrace your dharma, you will likely need to lean into some discomfort, to let go and to embrace change.

The North Node is the path to your highest potential, your dharma.

If you want to become who you are meant to be, follow your North Node.

Uranus – The Great Awakener

The intention of Uranus can be summed up in four words: awaken, liberate, change and authenticity.  His role is to energize sudden events that awaken you to potentials (think dharma) that you have not been aware of and to liberate you from old habits (think karma) that have outlived their “use by” date.  While he wants you to change your perspective, his goal is to support your efforts to discover and embrace your authenticity.

Importantly, the more unconsciously resistant you have become and the more stubbornly you hold on to your habits (again think karma), the more powerful and shocking Uranus will be.  But, Uranus does not need to be shocking.  It can be helpful to remember that Uranus is not interested in change for the sake of change.  His intention is not to mess you up or to make you feel irritated with life.  He is interested in you living both authenticity and effectively day to day.

The best way to work with Uranus is to begin with being open to new possibilities.  Be aware of any new insights that arise and write them in your journal.  Consider experimenting with these new potentials. You might discover that doing some things differently might actually feel invigorating or like a breath of fresh air.  If you find yourself thinking, “that might feel really good” or “I have thought this in the past”, you are cracking open the door to the possibilities of Uranus.

From the perspective of the long and winding road of your soul’s journey, Uranus is a future-oriented planet that demands you turn your gaze to the future and your dharma.

Uranus is the Great Awakener, energizing sudden insights to a more authentic life.

On the spiritual path, a more authentic life supports the unfolding of your dharma.

Mars - The Spark Plug of Action

We have been exploring the element of change that goes hand in hand with becoming authentic and embracing your path in life.  It is often the case that we may want to embrace change, but we often are unsure if we have to capability to make it happen.  Alternatively, sometimes we unconsciously resist the change we know we need to make, as if something in the back of our mind is holding us back (again, think karma).  Change can be hard, even when you are inspired and you have the support of those who love you.  If you are ready for change but are feeling hesitant, it is encouraging to know that Mars is ready to play a key role with this transit.

As we noted earlier in this article, Mars will conjunct Uranus and the North Node on August 1, 2022, energizing the last week of July and the first week of August.   This two-week period is when the fireworks go off in the zodiac that mark the most advantageous time to take action.  Astrologically, fireworks are co-ruled by Mars and Uranus.  I like to think of Mars using his fire to ignite the fuse and Uranus exploding into a display of one unique pattern of color after another into the sky for all to see.

During this two-week period, ignite your fuse and initiate action that leads to a more fulfilling future.  It is encouraging to know that Mars wants to give you the courage take action, express yourself and get things moving.  This is particularly important when you have been hesitant or a bit stuck.  Take the first step and get things moving, even if that means building just a little bit of momentum.  You can take comfort in the knowledge that you don’t need to complete everything during this two-week period.  This is the time to get things started and to feel the excitement of new possibilities that will unfold in the months and years ahead.

From the perspective of the long and winding road of your soul’s journey, Mars brings the courage to move forward on your path to the future and your dharma.

Mars ignites your fuse and energizes action.

On the spiritual path, Mars embodies the courage to embrace your dharma.

It all takes place in Taurus

It the most fundamental level, Mars, Uranus and the North Node share a common purpose in embracing the potentials for the future (again, think dharma).  Alternatively, Taurus seems more comfortable with things just as they have been (again, think karma).  Taurus can be encouraged to move forward, but only when he recognizes the value of the changes you are considering and feels comfortable with the process.

For Taurus, the first step is to be patient.  Take the time to ponder and consider what you truly value. Uranus and the North Node are inviting you to consider new possibilities for the next chapter of your life.  You may discover a subtle shift in your values and what you want in life.  As you write in your journal, take note of both the emerging themes and any changes in the words you use to describe them.  When you find the down to earth aspect of your path to the future, Taurus will become more comfortable with the potential for change.

The second step is to move forward one step at a time.  Taurus is never in a hurry and is definitely not interested in getting to the finish line first.  But he is fully determined to get to the finish line on your path in life!

From the perspective of the long and winding road of your soul’s journey, Taurus represents the values that make life enjoyable and meaningful on your path to the future and your dharma.

Taurus moves patiently, one step at a time.

On the spiritual path, Taurus embodies the values that align with your dharma.

Conclusion - This conjunction of the North Node, Uranus and Mars in Taurus has the potential to be of particular importance.  Since my chart (Wolfram) is particularly impacted by this transit, I have been experiencing the themes explored in this article very personally.  The thoughts, feelings and events that have arisen in the past two weeks have been powerful, healing and life changing.  While my path in life remains the same, I have experienced a transformation in my body and mind.  To say that life feels better day to day is a great understatement.

In the midst of your busy life, spend some time to journal your experiences, thoughts and feelings.  Be on the look out for the potential for a more authentic and fulfilling life.  If you are so moved, take the first step and then proceed forward one step at a time towards your dharma.

May you move in harmony with the Sun, Moon and stars.
